The Upside-Down Kingdom

When Jesus talked about the Kingdom of God, he often surprised people. Instead of talking about power, he used images like mustard seeds, yeast, hidden treasure, lost sheep, humble kings, and unexpected grace. He showed that God’s kingdom is different from worldly kingdoms. It grows quietly, cares for those often ignored, welcomes outsiders, and challenges common ideas about power, success, and what is right.
In this series, The Upside-Down Kingdom, we invite you to explore stories, parables, and prophetic visions that show how God’s reign truly works. From the Old Testament’s ancient promises to Jesus’ teachings and the hope of a renewed creation, we’ll discover a kingdom that starts with changed hearts and grows into our communities and the world. Each week, you’ll be encouraged not just to learn about the Kingdom of God but also to live as a citizen of that kingdom—shaped by grace, justice, humility, and selfless love.
This series invites us to picture a different kind of world where the last come first, mercy wins over judgment, and the King rides a donkey instead of a warhorse. Each week, we’ll ask: What actions or attitudes can we adopt to live as people of God’s kingdom today? Join us on this journey and commit to one practical step each week as we live out God’s kingdom together.
